Who we are looking for:

We are in search of qualified individuals who are compassionate, as well as passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth while exploring their own values and interests. 

The candidates must have empathetic qualities, and be able to demonstrate commitment to the role. You must be willing to demonstrate positive leadership skills and be able to set and maintain professional boundaries with clients. This position will include:

• taking responsibility for the youths’ safety and security 
• supporting the youth in the areas of Individual/Group Therapy, Life Skills, and Social Skills
• assisting with community-based services, including, medical, personal, recreational, and educational needs. 

 You must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and be able to provide proof of vaccination upon hire. 

You must be willing to work either of the 12-hour shift (7 am- 7 pm and 7 pm-7 am), including weekends.

Key Components:

•  Obtain information and prepare reports
•  Implement life skills workshops 
•  Assess clients' strengths and identify development needs
• Develop, coordinate, and implement the delivery of specific services within the community
• Provide suicide and crisis intervention
• Resolve conflict situations
• Implement substance abuse treatment and behavior management programs
• Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
• Housekeeping and meal preparation

Desirable education and other requirements:

• You should ideally have a high school diploma. Candidates with a Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW/CYC) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Justice Worker (CJW), and Police Foundations (PF) will be highly considered. Similar experience working in Social Services will also be considered.
• First aid training
• Driver's license

Applicants who are successful at the interview must obtain a Criminal record and Vulnerable sector checks prior to starting employment.
