OUR COMMITMENT TO FIRST NATIONAL PEOPLE

Our commitment to First Nation people is to create a strong partnership based on truth and openness. This will be achieved by:

1. Providing  safety and security to youths in our residence
2. Ensuring care, love, fairness, and equality to all youth in our residence
3. Preserving customs, culture, traditions, and beliefs of the First nation people. This will be accomplished by:

• Creating an environment in which youth can practice their customs and traditions
• Acquiring necessary books that ensure youth can continue to grow and follow their roots
• Liaising regularly with First Nation Child and Family Center to ensure that we are informed
• Liaising with youth Family/band as applicable to ensure that the youth keep connected
• As owners, we will search out training and programs (example: Introduction to Indigenous Culture) that we and our staff will benefit from and that would improve the care for our Indigenous youth.
